Why Electoral College Federalist Papers 10 Is Important
Why Electoral College Federalist Papers 10 Is ImportantDid you know that the Federalist Papers was written in response to the British government's 1774 imposition of the Articles of Confederation? In fact, the Federalist Papers was written at a time when the British monarchy was about to fail. One of the most important papers in the American founding fathers' paper trail is Federalist Paper Number Five - also known as The Federalist Papers. It was written by Alexander Hamilton. Hamilton was also the author of the original draft of the Declaration of Independence and of the Constitution itself.Hamilton worked with John Jay and George Clinton as they worked on a constitutional plan for the new government, according to their own grievances over the corruption and aristocratic tendencies of the British monarchy. They first went to London to try to get this thing going; however, since there was no way the British would support a split from the King, they settled for forming a 'Cabinet of C ommissioners.'This Cabinet of Commissioners later became known as the Federal Convention - it was supposed to discuss how to bring about change in the form of a political hand-me-down to the thirteen colonies. However, the two political hands decided that it would be much easier to make a radical shift in direction, and that is exactly what they did.Hamilton and Jay worked out the Federalist Papers in order to explain the change. They thought that the Constitutional Convention could change the form of the central government by removing the Articles of Confederation. It seems to be a plausible theory, but they were basically wrong. The Federalist Papers explained that the purpose of a central government was not to give a government form for the new republic - it was to serve as a strong mechanism against political destabilization. The Federalist Papers explained that this idea could not be removed, because it was part of the Constitution itself. This gave the idea of a new Federal Rep ublic a better chance of success, since it was still very powerful. This Federalist Papers is actually written with one goal in mind: to get the founding fathers to back a Constitutional Convention. They wanted a centralized government that could turn the nation toward democracy, and back the idea of a Constitutional Convention so that they could force the hand of the King. They are trying to create a world that has one king and one law - a world where the people rule, and where there is no popular sovereignty. Even though Hamilton and Jay cannot understand how this isn't what the British people wanted, they eventually tried to convince them, and to force the British to back the Continental Congress. But the British had just changed the form of their government by creating the Articles of Confederation, so they never really liked it.
